Band members

In December 2005 a group of friends sat spending time at our local cafe. Antti Mustonen came in with a demo which he had got from his friend. This demo included music from a man who handed mail for a dayjob, and in the evenings he wrote songs in his apartment. This man's name was Antti Pouta. Mustonen said that this Pouta is looking for musicians for his band. Reaction was stunning when people listened Pouta´s songs. Drummer Niko Lahtinen and guitarist Antti Mustonen were familiar to Antti Pouta and had jamming with Pouta for couple of years and now also basist Teemu Malva and second guitarist Tuukka Pääskysaari joined the band.

The band started practicing in a bomb shelter under noisy fitness club in Korso and soon they were already at gigs. Gigs was played and the reception was generally good. Within 2 years the band also made two albums (2007 “Upside Down from the Underground”-EP and the 2008 single "Modern Times"). They received good reviews in the media. Song called Allright (from “Upside Down from the Underground”-EP) won first place in Ourstage.com rock gategory which included hundreds of bands in all over the world. Band got different prices included review in Relix Music Magazine which released in USA.

In spring 2008 the band had big challenges when the second guitarist Tuukka decided to quit the band due to the rush he had with his studies and another band called Lunk. For some time the band had to take a break and think about find a new fifth member until the band finally decided to start to arranging their songs for four players and suddenly the sound of Pouta began awaken to life.

More gigs were made and the listeners reception was getting better time after time. The band has been lucky to collect other talented people around to help the band on their way to success.

After Tuukka left the band we´ve been thinking about the need for a new member to replace him, and in 2011 we decided to look for new members. After a few candidates just out of the blue Kimmo Numminen from Kim Curly Band was contacted and expressed interest and after a few rehearsals it was clear that the new Pouta-member was found. Pouta was complete!

Now here we are, doing what we are created to do. We love spending time in the studios but the stage and live performances is the thing were we shine.
